Appeals
For health plans where Evolent manages clinical appeals, providers can submit appeals directly through RadMD.
- If an authorization request is denied, the Initiate Appeal option will appear at the top of the Exam Request Verification Details screen.
- When Initiate Appeal is selected, you will be guided through a series of clinical questions and prompted to upload supporting clinical documentation.
- If the member's health plan allows reconsideration/re-review of the authorization request, you will be prompted to cancel the appeal and upload clinical documentation to the original request to initiate a reconsideration/re-review.

For health plans where Evolent does not manage appeals, providers and members should contact the member's health plan directly for appeal submission requirements, instructions, and support. Appeal requests cannot be initiated through RadMD for these health plans.
